I have a 2002 Dodge Durango that is leaking power steering fluid like crazy! I can fill it up and with-in aweek or less it needs more. I have tried the Lucas Stop Leak and it has not helped any. Any suggestions on what could be wrong? Also will not keep water in the reservoir, its the same way and I can hear water run. Sounds like it is under the dash when I first crank up in the mornings. Anyone HELP?

 

as for your power steering leak, try to find where its leaking from. I've had two power steering leaks, one was from the pump itself, I wrecked it offroading and it was literally pouring from the pump. And recently i had to replace the rack and pinion because it was leaking from the top of the input shaft.

That is the top of the rack and pinion where mine was leaking from, it was a lsow leak from the top of the seal, but still took a litre a month

 

ok , i will look and see, but from the leaks on the concrete it looks like it is coming from around where you put the fluid in at. But can't tell for sure because it is running down stuff on the underside of the truck. Thanks for your help and if you have any other suggestions I am always glad to hear them.

when the engine is off and cooled down, use an old rag to wipe everything down, and make it all dry. then start it and just look for the higest wet spot (fluid won't fall up )

 

had a power steering leak also , tried the lucas power steering stop leak but that didnt work , took it to the shop and it turned out that my power steering line was rotting out , had sevearl leaks , first leak was near drivers side front tire other leak was back under motor towards passenger side , it was about a 150.00 part but it took them almost 2 hrs to get the old one out and new one in , hope you get it figured out
