Help with window
i have a 2k durango. window is stuck open about 3". when i push the button i can hear the motor and the window will go down about 1" but won't go up. i can grab the window and pull it up but it won't stay. i checked to see if the glass was off track but from what i could tell it was right on (removed the door panel). is the motor and regulator seperate? or are they the same thing? i assumed that if i could hear the motor working, it was still good and the window was just off the track. now i'm not sure. Any help is appreciated.
Motor and regulator come as one assembly. I have not found anywhere to get the regulator by itself. You are looking at around $80-$120 at the Pep Boys type stores and over $200+ at a dealer. This is parts only. You could probably check a junkyard and get it for less.
It definitely sounds like the regulator is toast. Probably the cable or one of the cable guides broke. That is why you can hear you motor but nothing is happening. The job is pretty easy to do once you get the parts. I have a piece of wood cut to fit holding up the window until I can get a new reg/motor assy.
