I had a weird experience this morning on the way to the office in my 2000 4.7 L SLT+
Switched lanes and hit the gas - I was going about 40 at the time and when I looked at the speedometer it was at about 60. - my RPMs have never risen above 3000 and they were almost at 5000. when i looked at the oil guage - it seemed to be running much hotter than usual. Took a little time for the truck to calm down, and then it seemed ok.

Any ideas - bad fan clutch or tps or worse - a tranny problem ?
