i was wondering if anyone knew if you can swap a manual tranny into a durango and if you can how much would be involved and has it been done before?

 

I haven't seen it done yet. But you can do anything you mind wants to, as long as you have the $$$$$ to back it up. Sounds like an expensive job. You could look and find a totaled 97+ Dakota 4x4 w/the 318 5-speed combo, parts from that MAY swap, I'm not 100% sure. Dodge never made a 5.9L 5-speed in anything under a Ram 2500. You'd have to do some research to see how different, if any, the trans to the 318 is different than the one w/the 360.

 

Just out of curiosity, WHY would you wanna do that?

 

why wouldn i want to do that...it would be differnt and a 5spd durango would be much more fun than an auto. i hate automatics and if i had the choice every car i own would have a manual tranny but the durango isnt available with one so in the long run, when my tranny goes why not put in a manual to make my truck that much more enjoyable for me?

 

Durangos are SUVs. If you want to call something a truck, you better buy a Ram.
