alt not charging
The problem:
The alternator isnt charging the battery on my 1999 dodge durango.
Attempted fixes:
Replaced alternator
Replaced Battery
replaced tentioning arm on drive belt
Problem could be fixed if I moved around the three connectors on the computer on the passenger side finder wall. This had worked on and off for a yr. Now has no effect.
Took out computer to look inside to check for cold solder joints and visually inspect. Found the ckt card was incased in agell. Couldnt really see anything there.
Took resistance checks between the altenator plug and the plug on the computer. Found one wire that was green 0 ohms res. On white wire with a blue tracer found 13 ohms thought that was odd.Thought maybe it was the resitance ofa fuseable link. Then checked between other pins and the altenator found several that was 13 ohms not sure why this is true.Would have thoughtall but the white with blue trace would be open.
Questions
What shoud i read in resistance from the atlenator plug to the computer plug ?
ShouldI readsomething other than opens between alt and any pin but the white/blue tracer?
Anyone that has incountered this problem what did you do to fix it?

Scott:
IIRC, the charging system is managed through the PCM. You may need a new one. How old is your D, and how many miles. The PCM should have an 8yr 80k warranty on it.
Consider taking it in for warranty replacement if you fit the guidelines.

Not sure if its related but reference the attached post. There is supposed to be a 140 amp fuse for the charge system. Maybe that's all it is.
