Default 01 R/T 5.9 Durango Overheating

hey Dodge Buddies my heat is not getting hot. The temperature gauge goes to the hot side, then it loses heat for about 2 mins then it heats back up. It's now overheating within 10 mins of driving. The t stat & water pump has been changed and still no good results. PLEASE HELP A DODGE BUDDY OUT!!! Thanks in Advance..

Does it overheat only in traffic or lower speed driving or at high speeds as well? Did you boil the t-stat to make sure it was good? After changing the t-stat and water pumpdid you bleed all of the air out of the system? Try cleaning the radiator off and straighten any bent fins. Also how well do you maintain the cooling system. Try running an IR thermometer over the radiator and see if there are any blockages in there.
