CTFF:
Glad to hear that you got it fixed. Chalk up another repair done cheaply and easily thanks to the collective braintrust that exists here and on a few others sites to support us as Durango owners.
My 01 has not had this issue as of yet at 67k, but lately more and more 01, 02 owners seem to be having it. Hopefully if it is going to rear its ugly head it will do so before Feb. of 2009 when my warranty expires.

4x4 issue probally electronic
for a while now everytime i start my car my 4x4 light on dash will be on and stay on disengaging my **** and no lights on ****. after my durango warms up and is running the light will go out and ill have what seems to be full use of my 4 wheel drive. green light comes on to indicate im in 4 wheel drive and then i can switch it..... usually before the 4x4 light goes out after warming up it will go on and off for a few minutes then stay out giving me back use of my four wheel drive. ive checked my fuses and all good. i have not really started to look around and check cause i dont know where to go or what to do... all i know is it seems to me temperature sensitive and elecronic... for example if i just start my car and its warm and or hot outside the 4x4 light will not come on and stay out and be normal...i could use some sense of direction. all i know is this started close to around the time i replaced my gear oil and gaskets on my front and rear diffs because i was having issues and noises but diagnosis went pretty well eith examing teeth on gears and so for forth. btw i have an 01 durango 4.7 liter v8 magnum 4x4... any help would be great
