Default power window problems

my brother inlaw is a idiot ,this guy has cost mea ton of money:

his latest scewup has my rear drivers side power window all screwed up , last week at 6:30 am i got stuck taking him home and my 2003 dodge durango was still ice cold being it was only
8 below out and little did i know he was in the back trying to open his window so he could have a cig..and i also did not know the window was froze in place being the truck had not warmed up yet.

now the window is stuck in the half open position and the glass
moves freely when pulled up then slides back down to the half open position , i removed the door pannel and i found some kind of plasticcam ,looks like a half moon shape that keepsthe cable tight or something , and nowi have this cable loose inside the door itself
does anyone no if there is a place to find a schematics of the routing of this cable and cam part .
this sure does not look cheap if i was to take it in to the dealer

sure would like to find a way to repair this window myself ifi can !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I just replaced mine on my driver's door. If it is what happened to me you will have to replace the whole unit. I'll know how much tomorrow it will cost me. If it had been spring or summer I would have done the replacement myself, but nowhere to do it in the winter.

The cost was $360, parts, labor, tax. I had a local shop do it. Cost could differ depending on where you live or if you decide to DIY.

He broke the regulator. It's basically the cable system that pulls the window up when you engage the window motor. You should be able to find one for $75 or so and they are pretty simple to install.

Yup snapped the regulator...did the same here. I got mine for $58.00. Not too hard to replace yourself.
