Default Need tune up advice.

I have a 2002 SXT Durango that just hit 96500 miles and I plan to do complete tune up. So far it runs great but I don't want to wait for any problems to arise. I went to the Dodge Dealer just to get an estimate of the job at hand.

Here's a link to the quote:

is $580 Ok?? What else should I have done? or checked?

Most of what they have listed looks pretty decent. It is amazing though how much they charge to do some things.

What ever you do though, the items in the gray shaded area are nothing but extra money for the dealer. I would stay far away from those..

Are you mechanically inclined at all?? if you have the time and some simple tools, you can save quite a bit by doing some of this yourself.

The spark plugs, differential fluid, and the transfer case fluid are pretty easy. I would leave the tranny fluid and cooling sytem to them.
BTW, do not let them flush the tranny, just drain old fluid and replace the filters.

I can most certainly change my own oil, spark plugs, and do so as far as changing brake pads but I'm living in an upstate apartment complex and I'm sure I can't even wax my car while parked here.

Anyway, thanks for the heads up. I'll see if I can hook up with someone at work so I can at least deal with the easy stuff.
