01 Durango Idle problems
My 01 With a 4.7 and about 125000 miles has been running rather rough lately so I did a tuneup on it but my idle problem is still there. It will fluctuate from about 600 to 1000 RPM and I have noticed that it does it some times when I am driving down the road. When I am going about 40-45 MPH sometimes it start doing it and cause the tranny to keep shifting out. Any ideas on what might be the cause?

Sounds like the TPS (throttle postition sensor) is bad. Will cost you ~$30 or so, and is pretty easy to change.
I think it is secured to the throttle body with 2-3 screws.

I am sure there is, butI don't have a factory service manual to know the procedure. At 125k though, your oem one has given you your monies worth. I would make the swap just on principle. My bet is that a new one cures your ills.
