Default Transmission Temp Sensor Location

A search only resulted in a few unrelated threads.

I'm looking to add a good aftermarket trans temp gauge to the wife's D. Do I need to get a pan w/ port for the sensor or is there a port available on the trans already.

Thanks in advance.

I know that there is a temp gage idiot light sensor, but I think it is in the input or output sensor. Output most likely.

You can get after market pans with threaded input sensors for about $150 at http://www.summitracing.com/
You can get deep pans. Or you can also drill out your pan and install a input sensor.
