I bet thats really helpful for somebody who can just go to the dealer! Seeing how i'm like 3K miles from the closest dodge dealer that doesnt really help me now does it.

You can always order what you need, so I'm sorry if you "just can't go to a dealer", but I did tell you where you and everyone else could get the part. I'm sorry that it didn't fit into you regular scheduled program, but I did tell you where to get the part you asked for so relax already! A simple thank you would be nice instead of a snippy statement.

how to get the door out of the unit.

Well, there are two doors within the housing. The Mode Door (directs flow up or down) is on the end. With a little bit of separation of the housing halves, you can just reach in the discharge opening and pull the door out. The Blend Door (temperature adjustment) is near the center of the housing. I found this door broken off and resting on top of the evaporator coil. I separated the halves a bit and then reached in with one of those flexible claw reach tools.

And where did you buy that black coupler peice from?
Hydra's right. This is a dealer part. PN: 5019632AB Cost was about $10.

Hope this helps. My heat and ac has worked fine since making that repair.

Good Luck.

Default Flapper Repair

Found my broken part from my flapper door which looked very similar to the 70cuda pic. Super glued it back together.
Ace Hardware had a 1/2"X1" steel thinwall sleeve (2 bucks) that I was able to slot down the side with a cutoff wheel. I was able to press it over the repaired area of the flapper.
A new coupler (12 bucks) from the local Chrysler dealer and its back together. We'll see how long it lasts.
I also added a support for the coupler stops as I noticed a small crack on one.

Having this same problem myself, Looks like I'll start taking it apart tonight and see what I find. I just hope the repair lasts as long as replacing it, I don't want to have to deal with it again for a long time.
