Default Strange problem, Please Help

Alright fellas, check this out...

It's a 98 Durango with the magnum. I go to start it, it turns over for less than a half second then all the accessory lights begin to flash and it stops cranking. There's also the relay in the passenger fuse box that is just going nuts, but only when I turn off the key. I turn the key to start it, nothing. I resetted the ECM, nothing. Checked all the fuses, nothing. Now when I turn the key, the only light that comes on is the Brake light on the instrument cluster. ANY help would be greatly appreciated, thetruck is over 60 miles from home and i'm headed back there tomorrow to either fix it or have it towed home.

Thanks!

1. Bad battery. Have it load tested for sure.

2. Bad connection.

3. Bad starter/coil. They are one unit.

This problem is a classic for a bad connection.

Try jumping it to rule out a bad battery. If you get it started take it to an auto parts store and they can test the ignition system for you. Your problem sound like what my Avenger did. And its a bad battery, I can jump it and its fine.

That can be miss -interpreted. If you have a floating cell the battery is still bad but the boost would help.

Regardless, the battery needs to be load tested. IF you can get it to the parts store then they can check most problems to ensure that you get the right part.
