No Air Bag Light, but pulled codes...
Okay, I'm the new guy this time, and hope this hasn't been answered. I've googled, searched, etc for information, but don't seem to be able to find anything, so here goes.
I have Autoenginuity's scan tool with the Enhanced Chrysler Module, and it will scan all of the systems (as far as I know) on my 2001 Durango 4.7 4WD. When I pull the DTCs, I get the following list of codes from the Airbag Control Module:
B3f00 Diagnostic Code - ACM Accelerometer Diagnostic Code
B3f01 Diagnostic Code - ACM Internal Diagnostic Code
B3f02 Diagnostic Code - Cluster Message Mismatch
B3f03 Diagnostic Code - Driver Squib Circuit Open
B3f04 Diagnostic Code - Loss of Ignition - Run-Start
B3f05 Diagnostic Code - Passenger Squib Circuit Shorted
B3f06 Diagnostic Code - Passenger Squib Short to Battery
B3f07 Diagnostic Code - Passenger Squib Short to Ground
B3f08 Diagnostic Code - Vfire2Low
B3f09Diagnostic Code - Warning Lamp Shorted
When I clear the codes, they come right back. It looks to me like I should probably have an air bag light or something, but there are no lights on on the intrument panel, and the lights do operate when I turn the key on. Anyone have any idea what would cause all of this? The only reason I know something is amiss is because of the scan tool. Otherwise, I'd never know. I'm thinking about taking it to my dealer and having them pull the codes, and if they say everything is fine, pay the money for the scan. Otherwise, Autoenginuity may save me a bunch of money becauseit'sstill under theextended warranty.
The thing that boggles me is that I have no idea what these "B3f00" codes are. I've seen B, C, P, etc, and three or four numbers, but the "f" in there confuses me (not hard to do!). I checked on AllDataDIY, and they list out the P codes, but no B codes at all, and say very little about the air bags, other than remove, replace, etc.
It looks like a serious problem to me; I just don't know where to go. If there's a fix, I'll take it to the dealer, as I'm not messing with air bags. I guess my question is just for knowledge; I'm going to get a qualified mechanic to fix it. If anyone can tell me where to find the codes listed above, I'd appreciate it.
Thanks in advance,
Ben

I would guess that you don't see an airbag warning light on the dash because of the last code you listed "Warning lamp shorted". Do you see an airbag light when you first start the vehicle, when all of the dash lights come one? If not, then I'd say it's definitely shorted/burned out.
Definitely have a qualified mechanic look at it. I had a bad clock spring, which is small part but major repair as it is located behind the airbag. It's just not something I'd be comfortable working with without any training or knowledge on airbags. Based on those codes you showed, I would also think that the airbag problems could be serious. Have the dealer look at it.

The air bag light does workj; it comes on when I turn the key on, and it seems to do what the manual (owner's and service) says it should do. When I get a chance, I'm going to take it in to the dealer. Really, I'm more interested in those Chrysler/Dodge specific body codes, because *I'm* not going to mess with the air bags!
