Default part throttle miss & stumble

I have a 01 5.9 r/t....especially when cold it will not accelarate without missing and stumbling...at times I think I hear a intake backfire

I have cleaned the tbi and the only code is for a pre cat O2 sensor ...getting replaced this weekend

Any ideas?

Could be any of the following:

Throttle Position Sensor.

Air Charge Temperature Sensor.

Clean the TB and sensors.

Whatspark plugs are you using?

I did the tune-up...plugs, wires, cap and rotor...didnt get the coil installed as I want to get it closer to the distributor and off the front of the motor

when first fired and driven everything seemed great accept for an off idle stumble on occasion.....so used an old Buick turbo trick and opened the plug gap from 40 to 44.....everything is awesome

cheers and thanks for the early help
