hey i need to know wut else i can get done 4 my 2000 dodge durango 4wd with the 4.7L want to know wut else i can get done to it to make it more quicker i already got the k&n cold air intake the 77 series! and i need to know wuts the best exaust i want something to be ****ing loud kinda like a flowmaster and wut kind of a programer should iget 4 it! an is there any alternator upgrades?

Welcome to the boards. This has been asked alot. I may have to research our forums and post it in our Top questions and answers stickied on top of this 1st generation forum.

Here are some basic easy upgrades you can do to your D on top of what you have already:

performance muffler: flow or magna, depends on your personal taste. but most recommend flows. Most like to do the single in dual out mufflers to get that dual pipe outlet configuration.

PCM Tuner: for 4.7's, superchips is the only one available. I do not remember if Hypertech's new max tuners have a 4.7 option. These are tuners for your PCM. Don't confuse these for piggyback chips as they don't work for the Chrysler PCM's. These PCM's will eventually reconfigure itself to phase out the piggyback chip. But a tuner will actually reprogram the pcm entirely.

Ignition: You can upgrade to better plugs such as the Iridium champion plugs. You can also upgrade the wires and if need be, the ignition system as well.

Themostat: Drop the 195 stat to a 180 stat. This is great for 5.2/5.9 engines, don't know if it will benefit a 4.7

 

hey also wut bout like alternators upgrades are there any? cuz now with my sound system my lights dim alot so i bouught an optima battery and a 2.0 farad capacitor but sill having the same problem!

 

no clue there, you may want to do a google search for high power alternators or something similar to that.

 

Have you tried your local parts store?

Also have you tested the output of your alt?

I dislike the Optima batterys, but that is my opinion.
