Default 98 Durango won't start

I own a 98 durango (5.2 engine) that won't start. The engine cranks but won't turn over. The security and overdrive indicator lights stay on and the gauges do not register when the key is turned on. I changed a bad battery terminal clamp, assuming that might be the problem, any suggestions?

Default RE: 98 Durango won't start

I had the same problem with my 99. I found the center plug on the computer was bad. Just turn on the key then move the plug around. If it is the problem you should here a clicking under the hood. If it clicks try and start it. If that was the prob you need to replace the plug. The only trick is that the dealer will want to sell you the intire harness for under the hood witch cost about $600.00. Ijust got a plug off of one in the junkyard.
