Default Towing with my D

Just a quick question on towing. My durango is a 2003 4X4 SXT without the towing package and has 50K on it. I have a 3000 lb enclosed trailer and a 4500 lb camper. When towing either should I keep it out of OD? Even if its not jumping in and out of OD? I've talked to alot of other guys and it seems to be 50 - 50 on the answers. I would really hate to hurt the tranny over me being ignorant. Thanks.

When going up any incline and any windy roads take it out of OD... on flat straightaways once you are upto speed OD is fine, you just have to take an active roll in shifting your rig, something the manuals don't think the average driver will do... take it out of OD going downhill too, so you don't cook the brakes.
