Default A/C compressor won't stop

I just recently had my A/C charged and the compressor won't stop running. Engine temperature is normal and there is 2lbs of R134 in it. I have dual A/C and had the compressor replaced so it took a full 2 lbs. But I am worried about burning the A/C clutch out. Is it normal for the compressor to be on all the time the A/C is on? I am just wondering because we are going on a big trip Thursday afternoon and I don't want to be left stranded.

Thanks,
Dan

Default RE: A/C compressor won't stop

It is normal for the ac compressor to stay on for extended periods of time especially if its really hot out and you have the ac turned to max. If I remember correctly the rear ac is serviced seperately so it might be blowing cooler from the front than the rear.
