Got one from a buddy who's mom got rid of her 1st gen Durango. I went and bought grade 8 bolts and lock nuts, should I use washers also? I wasnt sure so I didnt get them. I dont even know what Class the hitch is either.... Is there an easy way of finding out? Thanks!

 

My D is an 02 5.9 engine/3.92 gear with tow package, class IV hitch, 7800 tow capacity. It has was flat washers on both sides, head and nut side, with the nuts on the bottom side. If youcan getthe vin number for your buddy's moms D, you can get a build sheet from Chrysler (free) and find out if the hitch was factory and what class. If it has a mount for a 7 pin plugto the left of the reciever it is probably a factory class IV.
