Default 01 Durango no start issue

I have an 01 Durango RT 5.9 4wd. 2 Days ago it quit suddenly. I wasn't driving, my wife said no steering and minimal brakes.

I looked at it and saw a "no bus" on the odometer. The gear selector indictaor didn't indicate what gear it was in, fuel gage was reading empty, when I know it was near full.

Let it sit overnight. Did some research, indicating it might be a ecu/module/connection issue. The issue indicated the vehicle should restart after cooling. Keep in mind, I've never had problems with the Durango before.

Hopeful, I tried to start it the next moring. No start, still turns over. I wiggled the ecm connections, which didn't do anything. I towed it home and looked it over.

I charged the battery, and disconnected it for several hours. I checked and replaced pertinent fuses, and removed and reinstalled the ecm connections. I removed a hypertech program I installed about 2 months ago. Still no start. Interestingly, several relays were kicking on and off with the key in the on position. This occured before and after I towed it.

I've narrowed it down to an ecm or bcm issue I THINK. I am GUESSINGit's not the bcm, since the fuel pump relay (pump was verified as kicking on) keeps kicking on and off. I could be wrong. I don't want to replace parts here. I checked with several Dodge techs, who had no idea. No codes found. My next guess is to replace the ecm, since I know that's what Dodge would do. No manuals even touch on the issue, can't find it on line. HELP!!!

Thanks,
Steve

Classic PCM. Replace the computer. You will need to have your VIN # installed on the new one. Some company's might install the info but,it it is a dealer service. You can get the PCM online.

Steve:
I agree with Hydra that your PCM is probably taken a puke.

BTW, how many miles on the D???? If you are under 80k, get thee to a dealer as they are warranted for 8yrs and 80k.

Otherwise, they are available online. Remember that if your D has the factory security system, the PCM you get must have that option enabled, or the truck will run for a few seconds and die.

Unplug the crank sensor, sounds like you loss pcm message on the bus. Thats why your shift indictor only show part of the gears and could cause the cluster to go dead, meanning all your gauges.
