Default Missing engine

Heres my problem now My 2000 D with the 5.9l engine has a sever miss when i drive it. There is no check engine light. I replaced the plugs and wires and still have the miss. Any idea what coulb be causing this. I am going to add a bottle of fuel injector cleaner to see if maybe the injectors are clogged.

what kind of plugs are you using?
platnium plugs will cause this on the magnum engines, all bosch plugs are pretty much junk for the magnum.
have you changed your distributor cap and rotor? get one with brass contacts.
this might help. https://dodgeforum.com/forum/1st-gen-durango/171362-engine-sputtering-and-won-t-idle-need-help.html

the 5.2 and 5.9 are nearly identical

Don't use Jap plugs in an American motor.

Just a rule of thumb.

my first thoughts go to the ignition system as well. proper plugs, wires, cap, and rotor are in order (do a search on the site for the manufacturers if you didn't go OEM). I would also see about a compression test and a fuel pressure test.

Talking Engine miss

I did replace the plugs and wires with oem however i did not replace the cap and rotor. If my memory is correct when i replaced the wires i saw white powdery substance on the cap terminals. Maybe that could be the problem!!!!!!!!!

Thanks

Do a tune up. Spend the extra money and replace the cap and rotor with brass contacts. Then install OEM or MSD wires (MSD wires are 8.5mm). Then just get some OEM Regular Champion plugs.

After that see if that does it. If not come back and we can help some more if needed.

Yeah it's been a while huh 408? I kinda burned myself out on thinking about vehicles in my free time with all of my diesel classes last school year. Only 2 semesters left for my degree though.

Sounds like you are doing good Green.

Hapluki.......Didn't see the part of the replacing OEM already but did you gap your plugs before installation????

Also the cap and rotor could definatly be your problem.
