Question Durango brake problem

When I first take off for work in the AM, one rear brake locks up when braking until I use the brakes a few times. After a few miles the front brakes start dragging and wheels get super hot and smoke. Gas mileage of course is terrible. Are new front calipers the answer?

sounds like you need a whole 4 wheel brake job. not hard if you know what you are doing, or take it to a brake shop and just have them do an inspection to see what the problem is , its hard to diagnose brakes without actually looking at them.

both the front and the rear start locking up? Sounds like you're having a hydraulic problem.Possible the Master going bad and not relieving pressure.Try opening a line at the master when it's locked and see it that free's it up.If not,go to each wheel and open the bleeders and see what happens and so on.

Good luck man.

Could also be the brake balancer located on the frame behind the wheel panel on the drivers side small access panel.
