Thanks for all your help! Had the cat convertor replaced today....now have to get a new rear O2 sensor, or else it will void the warranty on convertor. Anyway, my check engine light is off! *knock on wood that it stays that way!*

The Flowmasters I sell come with a Lifetime warranty.I guess it depends on what shop you have it installed at.

I just had the Stainless MagnaFlow installed under warranty. The old one I had installed had a seam deficiency.

I have a 2000 5.9 2wd and need to know where the O2 sensors are? I got the same P0420 code along w/ a P1281. Guess I need to change my t-stat?

one o2 sensor is in the exhaust line between the catalytic converter and the y pipe, and the other is after the catalytic converter

the o2 sensor locations are pretty much the same on all cars.. you just gotta poke your head under ur truck to find them.. you can always tell what the catalytic converter looks like because its a thick part in the exhaust pipe.. "think of the thick part on an earth worm" some of these dodges can have up to three catalytic converters (cat).. one o2 sensor will always read right off the y pipe close to the headers and the second after the cat...

P1281 Engine is Cold Too Long

Could be the T-stat or the temperature sensor on the intake manifold right next to it.

P0420 1/1 Catalytic Conv Eff

Sounds like a pre-cat 02 sensor but again that could be triggered because of excessive fuel on a cold motor. Fix the first code first.
