As for gas mileage there might be a maybe?????

Tranny shifts are night/day on the Hemi, that's a shame the tune is not comparable for you guys, I guess they put more time/effort on the tunes for current engine/tranny combo's than older ones.
Unfortunate, but I guess that's business...

The tranny's shift points are just NOT controllable by any computer.

I beg to differ.
Although I was not specifically talking about "shift points" but rather "shift firmness" (the pcm is programmed to allow a certain amount of "slip" for over-all ride comfort when changing gears) the Superchips tune (all three tunes) remove a certain amount of this slip for crisper shift, faster acceleration and extended transmission life.

It DOES allow for a recalibration of shift points on certain vehicles.

Superchips Flashpaq 3815 specifications:

Make/Model Year Engine Trans Shift Points Shift Firmness Speed Limiter
Ram 2007 5.7L HEMI All No* Note 1 Yes
Ram 04-06 5.7L HEMI All Yes Note 1 Yes

No* - feature available soon.
Yes - Setting can be altered from the Superchips tuned settings.
Note 1 - Denotes that the setting has already been optimized in the Superchips tune and cannot be set by user.

Currently due to their policy of conforming to CARB certification standards, the 3815 only allows you to set shift points for WOT operation. However, make no mistake, that is enough to prove that the COMPUTER controls the shift points. I've been working on a custom tune with SCT and because they are not concerned with CARB certification, their tunes allow for shift point settings to be changed regardless of throttle position.

I apologize for the "formatting" change in cutting & pasting from the Superchips website, but you get the gist...

This is the Durango forum. My comment was about the tranny in the first gen durango not an 07 Ram.

My bad.
I started my 1st post in this thread with "not sure about the tune for your 5.9's but on my Hemi". As I wasn't sure what was different in the tunes.
I took your post as being a general quote that the PCM does not control tranny shift points which I knew to be different, at least in my case.

Gen1 Ds with the 4.7 are PCM shift point controlled. On the 5.x, it's mechanical.

Could the tranny shift points increase the mileage? Couldthis also be one way to tune our PCM to adjust for theHHO setup?

5.2L right? If so, the shift points cannot be changed by a computer tune.
