Question on Tires
Hi All,
I was thinking about putting 265/70-17 tires on my Durango, the stock size is 275/60-17.
The new tires are 31.7" in diameter and 10.7" wide, the stock tire is 30" in diameter and 11" wide.
I would like to go to a taller tire to increase gound clearance and possibly get a little bit better MPG.
However, I am concerned with rubbing issues that might come if I go with the larger tire, I have a stock suspension on my 2001 Durango R/T.
Does anyone have any experience or insight they can share before I purchase the tires?
Thanks a ton.

RE: Question on Tires
Is your durango an R/T as well? I thought of wanting to go wider on my 2000 R/T but cannot get a good confirm answer on whether the sides will rub or not on the front when making full turns. So I decided to stick with stock size replacement of 275/60/17's. Would love to have 285's or even 295's if possible!

I have 285/60/17 on mine because they were the same hieght as my 31/10.50/15's were.

RE: Question on Tires
In metric the first number isn't the height of the tire its actually the width of the tire in mm. The second number is the aspect ratio for the height.
From my own experiences I know that a 32x11.5x15 is the largest tire you can use on a stock D. Which comes out to be 292/74/r15, and ofcourse we all know that tire size doesn't exist but you might be able to fit a 295/75r15
