Default ABS light, parking brake light, and speedometer issue?

The other day all of a sudden my ABS light and Brake lightcame on and are now always on.

My speedometer and RMP guage seem to be weird also. The speedo doesn't register until it shifts into second after revving a bit high, it switches gears then the spedo will jump to like 20-30mph

this all happened pretty much exactly at the same time. Any ideas?

I had my transmission rebuilt a year ago and haven't had issues.

i think i figured it out. seems as though everyone has fixed it by replacing the ABS Speed sensor. I will give it a shot. Picking it up tonight, 37.50, not bad.

thanks

ABS and Brake Light Question

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I have the same problem mentioned several times on this topic. My 2001 Durango just had the ABS and Brake warning lights illuminate. No speedometer or other problems though. Other members mentioned when testing the speed sensors that the fronts read about 1K ohms and the rear about 2K ohms. I unplugged and tested my three sensors and all of them showed open circuits (measured at the plug). Is it possible all three could have gone bad at once? Could the master unit have caused them all to go bad? Not sure where to go from here so any advice is appreciated.

Default Same issue but new one with speedometer now....

I had the same issue with brake and abs light being on... also with the speedo not registering till i hit about 30... replaced the rear speed sensor located on the rear diff... the brake and abs light still comes on but when i take it to be read, no codes found.... being told it needs to go through a drive cycle or two to clear out of the computer... ???? Also, now i noticed that the speedo doesnt enguage until i hit about 20 then it will go up to 60, floating around in that area while the gas is steadily pressed, but when i let off the gas pedal the speedo goes up, and when i speed up the speedo goes down???? Please some assistance to let me know if anyone has heard or experienced this issue.... also knows how to fix it by chance????

look into replacing the rear wheel speed sensor and the output speed sensor on the drivers side of the transmission output shaft

I agree with shrpshtr325 with the output sensor on the transmission, but you need to ck for stored codes in the ABS module. You could have an open ABS sensor, but you could have a main fuse code too.
