Default Engine won't start

I have a 2001 sport 4.7 engine. After driving for about an hour, if i turn off the truck, it wont start until the truck cools down. I was told to tap the starter and that worked. I replaced the starter with a New one and the problem still exist. Once the truck cools down, it starts right up with no tapping the starter. There is no cranking or anything going on when it doesn't start although all gages seem to be proper. I have already changed the battery and the alternator just to see if that would work. Please help. I can't even drive it to the store without worring it won't start up. Thanks.

DO:

Give more detail. Explain exactly what the thing does and does not do when it won't start.

For the engine to start, you need fuel, spark, and compression.

Sounds like some component/sensor has a thermal issue.
