I have a tuner for my 2004 Mustang (dist.less ign) that allows for timing adjustments. I suppose the Durango works the same way then. Having a dist. just had me thinking it was more simple. The tune up is underway, and maybe when I get a little more time, I'll check that timing chain. Good call. I'd hate to have it be too loose and jump a sprocket tooth. That would turn into a whole nother pain in the *** getting it timed right again, at least the way I see it. Thanks for the help again.

One way of timming it very close is to have the compression stroke just before TDC and on about 3 degree's before TDC (by way of manual checking and crankshaft checking) and put #1 on the distributor just before square. This is good enough to ensure a great fire. But again it has to be done on a computer not a scan tool or tuner. This is the only way to get it perfect and fuel efficent.

Do this manually and if you are off a tooth you WILL see it!

Just had a scan done on the truck and everything looks good, accept they said the Fuel pump weak and will need replacing. This should take care of the starting issue. Just wanted to post this in case anyone else has this problem to possibly help out. Thanks for all your help
