Cool The Fastman Trans

Hello to all who have the Fastman trans. I was just wondering what makes this trans the one to buy? Can you have the whole thing customized, for racing, towing, or an everyday driver? Also what are the price ranges?

Huge clutch packs. Housing actually has to be machined so all will fit back in. Worked valve body, your choice of converters from normal to high stall.

You can have it any way you want.

With brand new torque converter, mine was about $3,200 shipped. I've yet to send the core back to him. I wonder if it's too late.

I don't have a high stall. I do alot of towing so I got the regular converter.

I do get terrible mileage but that's from the 4.56:1 gears and the fact that I pull 6,000 lbs every day. (10 - 11 mpg while towing)

It pulls it great tho.

Damn, 4:56 gearring? I am still impressed your mpg is still putting out 11mpg's. I get around 10-11 when just driving around the local residential area. Get about 14 on the highway.

I think I paid less then 3k including shipping both ways and also got a 52mm throttle body from Fastman also.

Up to date, I have not had a chance to break in the tranny. Problaby put in just little over 1k miles on the tranny. Shifts a little rough when slowing to a stop sometimes, but I think it may be more my AWD transfer case causing the rough gear release when doing a slow slow down to a stop.

Other than that, the Fastman tranny seems to do what advertise to do. I do plan on making some engine upgrades in the future and fastman tells me their trannys are good to 700 hp. I went back to their site to look up the pricing and information on their tranny's. I guess they removed all that off and now just have a contact for Dan's partner Martin Saine that rebuilds the tranny's email address on the site.

Empty, I get 14.5 city and 14.5 hwy with the 4.56 gears. Towing 6,000 lbs, I get between 10 - 11 city or highway. I just did about a 400 mile round trip with the trailer and got almost exactly 10 mpg doing 75-77 mph the whole time.

(It has NO problem holding that speed even with the weight.)
