Default no illumination lights in dash

i just bought my 01 rt and found out that the dash lights are not coming on. i adjustsed the switch and still nothing. did the self check and no lights. i am not sure if i am supposed to have lights at the radio and ac controls. i had the dash apart today and found all the bulbs are good. do i need a new instrument planel/cluster or is it a fuse or bad wiring somewhere? everything else works. the digital displays are fine but no backlights anywhere. please help. thanks. Dave

i would check fuses first the chap/easy thing should always be done first lol so start checking fuses or read the inside of the fuse box cover and see which one is for inter/dash/instrument lights(not sure what it will say but you can figure it out)

i checked all the fuses and they all are fine, none are blown. don't know what else to do. is the radio and ac/ heat controls all supposed to light up also? the only thing that lights up is the display of the radio but no buttons or *****? same with the ac and heat controls.

No My issue was with the fog lights. If I am correct the switch controls the lights on the dash. if no one else has any comments I suggest you take the witch to the dealer to test it for its output to the lights. when you say you checked the lights and all of them are good. I'm pretty sure that the switch is the prob. do you have the rest of our interior lights?

i have all dome lights. display on milage and overhead. blinkers, check engine, oil, etc. all work. i'm not sure if i am supposed to have any other lights where the radio and climate controls are. i believe it should because i cannot see any controls at night and i am not sure what everything should look like because i just bought the durango used from a dealer. didn't find out about the lights until i drove it at night. i will check the switch if no one else has any other ideas.
