Default 1999 Durango alarm arming question

On all of my other Dodges I have owned, when you arm the alarm, it would honk the horn and or flash the parking lights... Well, this ones doesn't do either... And I usally arm it from a distance... I looked in the owners manual and didn't see a way to program it for the lights or horn... Any clues?

NO! It's my secret....

Take your key, remote out to your vehicle...
1. Place key in ignition and turn to "ON" position without starting
2. Push and hold the "UNLOCK" button on the remote for 4-10 seconds.
3. While holding the "UNLOCK" press the "LOCK" button.
4. A chime will sound telling you the programming is done...

I had to do this twice on mine... I have a 1999 Durango SLT. From what I have read, this will not work on the 98?
