Default Computer reprogram???

Ok, so my battery died while performing another job on my D. It sat dead for about 5 days. I expected my gas milage to get better with my recent upgrade. Instead, my gas milage has really dropped. Someone asked if I had to reprogram my computer. I had the 87 Octane setting from my SuperChips programmer installed. I assumed that the settings would still be there. Anyone know if I should have to reload anything????

I would think even with dead battery for several days, it should not affected the programming that was set by your superchips tuner as it should stay in its non-voliatal memory. Maybe it won't hurt if you use your tuner to restore back to factory settings and then tune it back.

If your battery is bad then your D will do it. Go have the battery load tested and replace it if needed.

The battery was still under warranty for a full replacement, so I did have it replaced. When you say that the D will do it, does that mean it will reset itself? I am guessing I should do as Kensai recommended and restore to factory then go back to the tuner settings.

The durango will act up when you have a bad battery or a low battery. Now I see you replaced the battery, I would return it to back to factory. Drive it a minimum of 48 miles and that is with at least 12 full starts. After that re-install the SC program.

Thanks. I appreciate the info, I will do this tomorrow while I run my errands...(2 birds with one stone..) I was very upset to see the initial results after changing out the fan, now I know why this would have happened....once again. Thanks.

After you return the computer to OEM, I would disconect the negetive side of the battery and get in the truck and aply the brake peddel like you are trying to turn on the brake lights. Leave the key in the off position. Hold the brake peddel in for about 30 seconds. This will drain any power out of the PCM and reset the PMC to your OEM settings that you installed. Reconnect the battery. Start the truck without touching the gas! Run it for about 45 seconds. Turn it all the way off. Then re-start and drive it normally following the last posts recommendations.
