heater problems
Can any one help.... I have a 03 Durango... that has had blower problems.. the resistor has been replaced two yrs ago and started to have trouble again.
lost high on fan and lost an intermediate speed as well.. so I replaced resistor again yesterday.. still no high though!.. worked for about 3 min and lost fan completely.... So then i purchased a new blower motor and a new resistor...(third one now) and tried that.... still no high speed...
Does anyone have any suggestions?
Thanks!

Get yourself a manual and go over the wiring schematics. Check all of the connections, relays, the fuse, and wiring in the high side circuit that seem to be affected. Did I read your post correctly when I assume you have all but high speed right now and do you have a multimeter or know how to use one?
Test voltage drops accros your connectors, wires, etc in that circuit then. You will find the problem. Just make sure you have the fan speed set to high while testing it. It isn't common to lose high speed only every other speed due to a faulty blower motor restistor.
Yeah it's not a lot of fun. Just mark all of the wires and connections on your diagram that aren't tied to the blower resistor and work your way through definitely check the switch first since it's easy to get to. It may just be a bad contact.
I recently replaced my heater core and just hooked it back up a few weeks ago after doing a coolant change. It's now leaking a little bit again. I'm hoping it will make it through the winter otherwise I'll splice my lines together (again) and freeze since school and work are taking all of my time right now...
