I'm at work so I can't look but usually the knock off CAI's have a short tube on them that sits right on the engine sucking in all that heat, they also require modding to fit a lot of times. If you want to get it go for it and rather than cleaning the filter when it comes time for that buy a K&N cone instead.

precisely my plan, also get a longer tube once the mesaurement is done to make it reacht the inlet alil closer.

That plan will definitely save you some dough. I have seen some longer kits with heat shields. You may want to keep searching for a little while if that isn't what you have there.

I don't like this


The problem is you suck in hot air from the engine bay.

The better thing to do is utilize the OEM setup drop a K&N fitter OEM replacement in and pipe into the the front of the grill between the head light and the radiator.

Eather way, you need to get cold air from outside the engine bay into the motor. Ram air hood or piping is the better way.

what do you thing about puttin in the round cleaner. it would still be the hot air thing thou right?
