Default Water in the driver-side footwell

Hi guys,

new to the forum and hoping you guys might be able to help me out.

My 2000 Dodge Durango has water leaking into the drivers footwell.

Other cars that I have owned over the years have had minor interior leaks and the cause has always been a clogged drain - like around the sunroof.

On the truck, I could not find any drain lines to try to unclog and did not find any other obvious source.?.?.? Of course, I have never actually seen a leak either.

The leak is only on the drivers side and seems to be almost directly under the pedals...was dry back near the seat.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Make sure it isn't coolant by smell and touch. Coolant has a sweet smell and a greasy feel to it. If it is it's your heater core. Although I doubt this is your issue as it is usually a leak on the passenger side floorboard. Other than that I'd have to look at my D. Do a search for "clogged drain" or something like that I know it has been an issue in the past.

Definately not coolant. Also, the leaking started as the rain picked up here in OR this fall.

What is my D? A google search for that came up empty. My dodge. com did not have any articles with clog or drain or clogged drain.

Thanks.

A "D" is slang around here for Durango. All he was saying is that he will take a look at his truck. Also Check the weather stripping around the door for damage or age.

Thanks, that was my second thought, that the weather stripping around the windsheild must be bad.

Tomorrow I will check it again....

any other ideas?

I have not - good idea. The truck is basically stock, no amps or anything else that is not factory going through the firewall. Any special place I need to look for the grommets, or will it be obvious once I am under the hood?

Could be the seal around your windshield. Did you get a new windshield recently?

No special place, gromets on the driver side.. I think there only are 4 or 5 there.. The Gromets are the rubber isolators that insert into the firewall and protect wires from the sharp edges of the firewall, and keep water/dirt/hot or cold air out..
