Default Lower driving lights

Both bulbs finally went out on the lower driving lights on my 2000 R/T Durango. I want the whole assembly replace as both housings, the lens are cracked and water got inside and messed up the refractive lens. Has anyone ever replaced these driving lens with some aftermarkets that can basically fit the same holes/mounts and wiring??? Can anyone recommend any good lower driving lights replacement? I checked PIAA's website but not sure if those 4 inch rounds will bolt up to the oem locations. I got my headlight bulbs replaced with silverstars and it really lights up the road. Like to get some matching super whites for my driving lights too.

I saw some nice 4 inch round white light driving lights with some cool blue ring effects when you are just running the running lights and no driving lights at walmart for $40 for a pair set. But am not sure if the mounting brackets on those aftermarket kits will bolt on to the OEM locations. I like to avoid as much retrofitting as possible. Love to find some ultra white with oem mount kits or something! Would even love to find a dual lamp setup. One for driving, one for fog driving.

I would love to convert my headlights with HID if there is a kit that can fit the OEM 9007 holes. But heard I may lose my high beams unless they make a dual hi/low hid bulb or something.

Rockadaous,

I was starting at those cool blue lights! They would really match up to my silver stars! Now I wished I had the clear lens to really give off the luminence. Those aftermarket replacement lights you bought, did it bolt up to the original hole locations or did you have to do alot of retrofiting? This is what I want to avoid if I have to redrill holes to remount the lights! I prefer to try to find a way to use the original mounting locations if possible!

Thanks,

Ken

Robust57,

That was the first place I looked and I cannot find anything referring to the lower driving lights. They have everything else except for the lower driving lights! I must be blind now! After clicking on your link and checking the front lights sections, Viola, there they are!

But Rockadous is correct tho, those are expensive! $70 each and I guess those are OEM? I am tending towards the cool blue lights like rockadous that Walmart carries for $40 a pair. They even have one with a blue LED under the main bulb for extra special effects for about $50 a pair I think.

you can use your old brackets, but your gonna have to drill. I made a bracket for mine. I felt that was the easier of the two. kinda hard to get to if you don't drop your bumper, but other than that pretty easy. Pick-up some starter shims from autozone. you can use those for a bracket

check out http://www.procarparts.com for the diamond replacements. $$$$$

Okay, confused here, You said you can use the old brackets but still have to drill? Drill the holes to fit the lamp into the OEM bracket? I can do that, just hate to tear down everything and drill into the frame to fit the aftermarket brackets!! Also, the proparts.com does not have a listing for the 2000 Durango tho! The OEM's look good, I will just need to put in a PIAA bulb in it to get the super white light.

Thanks for your suggestion!

Robust57,

Just found out why they had the fog/driving lights on your page and not on mine. Your Durango was listed as a 98 model, but I have a 2000 model and I guess the mounting is different or something if they do not have them listed for my 2000 model.
