Default hello all i'm new and have an issue and hope someone can help

hello i'm pat i just bought a 99 durango last summer and i love it. the problem i'm having is when i turn on my left turn signal on all my marker lights flash even my brake lights does anyone have an idea what would cause that?
also when i put the brakes on my dash lights come on and the left turn signal lights up anyone have an idea what would cause that?
it all started today....

hi pat. probably a grounding problem. start with the easiest stuff. remove taillight bulbs and test, check the sockets for grease, gunk, corrosion, etc. check the pins in the sockets for 12volt on the hot side and a continuity to ground on the other. somewhere(s) on your durango, i don't know where (need a durango expert), there are some ground points. find those and clean them and retighten. also, check for screwed up trailer wiring, this is a likely point of failure.

As stated above it could be a poor ground allowing the electrical signal to find a path to ground through another component. You may also have a short to voltage. Take the time to read the electrical diagnosis and testing procedures at the top of the page. If you have any questions regarding any of the procedures just post up your question and I'll answer it.
