Default Delayed shift until it warms up then ok

My 2000 Durango has delayed shifting in all grears until it warms up. Colder days = delayed shifting for a longer period of time. No slipping or other symptons.
Any suggestions? Fluid level is right where it should be.

When your tranny fluid is cold it is a lot more viscous so it will take longer for it to engage your clutch packs hence your shifting delay.

Default Could be this...

Had the same problem with my D here in Saudi...wouldn't shift up until i'd driven 2km's down the road and then no problems...
traced to a broken spring in the transmission - if you remove the pan under the tansmission it lives in one corner and is mounted vertically and is held under a lever...best description I can give.
not good news if it is that since Dodge will want to sell you an entire new gearbox controller.

no, they effing won't - they wanted to sell me the entire hydraulic unit that controls the gearbox - its brains...
however - I talked to the expat manager of their warranty division and he "made a plan" - don't know what, but the transmission works great and it only cost me a fraction of a what they had wanted to charge me...
we expats stick together here in Saudi...

Smile I wish I were expat Chris

Hello Chris,
I'm also here in Saudi , but im no expat,,i have a 03 durango 4X4 5.9 L SLT, and i had many problems with those guys from the United Motors, they only charge for a whole thing, i expect that u were talking about John or the South African Maint. Manager Mr. Kinembe as i think...

im facing a lot of problems when it gets to spare parts,,,,,,,,,,the durango cars are great but there marketing is very bad..

very hard forumla..

by the way, Chris, can we become friends so that we share news about durangos......i work in Saudi Aramco..

regards,
