Default 1999 Durango Fog Light Switch

'99 Durango, headlights work fine, but when I pull the fog light switch out, nothing.... Does the entire switch need to be replaced? Firestone guy told me it is a Dealer part only. Any ideas to diagnose / repair the problem ?

Default hey

i actually just had the exact same thing happen...its the headlight switch...if you have a local autozone or advanced auto...go there and ask them to get you a new headlight switch...they can get them...its like 40 bucks or so.

It's probably the switch. Do the headlights go out as well when you pull the switch to turn on the fogs?

If so that is definitely your issue.

I just replaced a switch and harness in a 97 Ram a few weeks ago... Some there was a draw that didn't blow a fuse and melted the wires and switch... Had the same problems you describe... Just a though...

like i had said before. i had the exact same scenario about 3 weeks or so ago...i still have the old switch...if you want i can tear it down and take a pic of what broke on mine. when and if you take it out..shake it and see if you hear anything in it. if so...its the exact same problem.

Thanks for the info. The headlights work fine/stay on when I pull it for the fogs. Let me
go see the part at Autozone first and/or take mine out to see if it has a "rattle". Thanks again !
