Default Running Crappy

I just changed plugs and wires in my 98 Durango and now it runs bad, it idels fine so it seems the CEL is on then when you start to accelerate it seems like it has a little vibration to it and not much power, then the CEL will start flasing. But before this problem started there was another problem of when I was driving down the raod at about 30mph it would start chugging I gave it a little gas then you would here a popping sound then it was fine, ant help.

If the CEL is still on, go to the nearest Autozone/Advance Auto and have them scan the code. Easiest way to get to what the problem is, rather than throwing out multiple ideas.

What kind of plugs and wires did you use? I am guessing it wasn't stock plugs/cheap wires.

Stick with OEM and you'll be fine. Champion plugs may suck on other rides but these engines are made to run them and they do great. Also get your CEL pulled at an auto zone.

Platinum plugs don't mesh well with Magnum motors, from my experience.

There's your problem. A little FYI don't listen to parts store clerks on what brand plug you should use. They always say platinum because they think price equals quality...

I suggest trying to get your money back.

Take those plugs back and get Champion or Truck plugs.

I asked about coppers also a While back, and I wound up Not buying them cause there were People who said they tried em and they were fine and others said they tried em and they sucked. Ya cant go wrong with OEM Champions.
