Default Final conclusion for lift

So i came to the conclusion that the durango is not the greatest truck when it comes to suspension lifts. The only suspension lift they have out there is the 5.5 tuff country, and from what i hear tuff country will give you a lot of headaches. As much as i really wanna hook up those 35's, i decided thats its much easier and safer to stick with 33's along with the 3" body lift. Its easier, safer and a well lot cheaper and not worth sacrafising for 2 more inches of rubber. Maybe one day if another brand of suspension of better quality starts selling kits for our durangos, then maybe ill consider buying a lift. Say do you think that they'll ever make another suspension lift for our old durangos. I mean ive seen lifts for trucks from the 70's and 80's, our truck isnt that old. Just feel free to share your oppinion. Thanks.

Joe

There is a 3" lift out there for our D's. I think it may be rancho. Still it is only 1" more than the t/s lift and it was running at $1300 when I looked it up a few years ago.

Fabtech also has a good lift from what I gather by talking to people that own them. if you want to fit the 35's you could go 3 inch suspension and body then t bar crank it and shackle it

Not with the stress on the ball joints. 35's are just not worth it. Besides I haven't seen those other lifts you guys are talking about. Please share..........

Way better off just going to the 3" body lift, T-lift and shackel, then roll with the 33's.

Let me set the level for everyone....
5.5" TC suspension lift....
It was never the greatest, but its the only option. It may not be bullet proof but it still holds up to an average user who doesnt make it a daily beater off road.
TC stands behind their products and replaces broken items. The problem is some people take it above and beyond offroading and things are bound to break. The hassle to most is sending the piece back for the replacement, its not like you stuck with it. If your not too hard core you can pimp it, otherwise bl/ts is your only option.

Why is mine in the basement? Well look at it this way, our diff's etc were not made to run 35" tires (although you can), and the suspension lift is just that, and not driveline.

Will they ever make another lift?
Of course not
1) out dated IFS/ball joints
2) too old

Here's the lift I was talking about. Apparently it is for 00-02 durangos only. I'm sure with a little work it could be made to fit other models.

If that "Dakota" only lift is still available it's all the same up front for sure, so add a leaf/blocks/shackles could be done for the rear.
