Question 2003 Durango / replace front bumper (guard)

Hello - I have a cracked front bumper guard. ((AKA "plastic fascia."))

The part is readily available online, just wondering if this is a DIY-er type of project, given the proximity to the airbag sensors, etc.

Are the airbags deactivated by simply disconnecting the battery?

It is a simple job. You don't have to unplug the battery but if it makes you feel better by all means unplug it. It will disable the airbags for you.

Thanks MG - and as long as we're at it, Haynes is right - remove bumper entirely to replace fascia?

I've never pulled anything more than a bumper cover in order to put a new bumper cover on. Then again I've never pulled my bumper covers off of the D before...

It's so easy.

Be careful of the wires to the fog lights. Take them off before you lower it.

Duranged - looking good!

I might not go that far, but some push bars might be cool. Keep these ****** from parking quite so close to me!

Duranged408, Where did you get that bumper? I googled aftermarket bumpers but all I see are street ones.
