Default Flowmasters check!

Hello all, New here (obviously) Just picked up an 01 4.7 SLT+ ''D''. Love the truck, love modifying just about anything.

First mod is a cat back, single in/dual out 40 series flowmaster system. A good friend of mine (mechanic) just picked up a tubing bender and let me have at it. The hitch and spare tire is a must for me to keep. The passenger pipe is the stock one that I tweaked a tad. I think it came out pretty good for my first time. Man does it growl now!

Next mod is a K&N CIA and then a chip.

I look forward to chattin with you folks as well!

Whadda ya think?

Thats a real nice setup.. shows that some tools and know-how can produce high quality stuff.. those tips look perfectly level..

I've got single in/out super 40 for past 2 or 3 years now, and I love the sound of her gurgling away down the road.. it doesn't seem very loud up at higher rpm when you're givin'r, then shifts into 3rd gear, and all the deep noise comes back..

Welcome to DF.

Thanks, I think it sounds great. The drone is really not bad at all. I was able to have a conversation with someone in the back with no trouble at all. I'm sure everyones hearing is different as well.

I wouldn't be able to do cherry bombs being I'm pretty sure they're illegal in the state of New Jersey. I was originally gonna go with a 50 series until I heard one on a dakota. It was slightly louder then stock and there's no sense in doing that!

Thanks Deerang, for the welcome too. I agree, its loudest is when you first take off, but once it kicks into 2nd, the sound decreases quite a bit.

Welcome.

The piping looks nice. Do you have a video clip? I avoided Flows on my Durango because I have a set on my Dakota and I've grown old of them. Went with Magnaflow this time.

Congrats on the new to you ride and nj on the exhaust. May I suggest matching the left side of the bumper with the right though.

I went with the FM40 as well and love it. I would have liked it a little louder but it has a great sound nonetheless and it never gets old to hear it.

Looks great but did you leave enough room for axel articulation? Looks really close!
