Don't know about FREE unless somebody gives parts to you. One of the cheapest performance upgrade I know of is making your own CAI

CIA? Might as well knock on FBI while you're at it. haha.

But anyways, other than making your own CAI (cold air intake) or RAM air intake next to nothing, FYI from others are all you can get for free!

TPS Mod, crank the torsion bars for some lift up front, and shackle the rear for cheap.

Simplest cheap upgrades I can think of for the average do it yourself'ers.

Champion Iridium spark plugs and good set of wires/cap/rotor.

OEM K&N filter replacement

Homemade RAM air / Cold air intake

Synthetic Oil

LOL I went to the auto parts store to get me some Champion Iridium spark plugs.. I was thinking $50'ish.. LOL to my surprise $8.95 a plug.. I still got them but it ended up being over $80 for 8 plugs... They are nice though

I bought the Champion Irdium truck plugs not for the better performance, but mainly for its longevity. Some plugs around the A/C area of the engine are a PITA to get access to. I am all into keeping a low maintenance profile. Some things, I rather leave them in there longer if made to go longer vs having to replace them often!
