Default Need HELP with a few issues please...

My dad is having a few issues with his drango. its a 2000 durango. first issue is "sometimes"... a lot of times, when you try and lock the doors(with the remote or by the door) one door will (random, sometimes back right, sometimes back left, or the front two... very random) make this f-ed up sound that i cant even describe its so odd. but anyways it wont lock and sometimes it will. and when it messes up the door looses all functions. windonws and it even wont open. by the inside or outside. the only thing its good for is keeping you in the truck at that point. that would be issue number one. the second problem just started and has happened twice that i am away of. the temp gauge goes all the way hot and check gauges flashes and then everything goes back to normal. the whole thing lasts about 2 seconds. the other morning we had just got in the truck so i know it wasnt hot so there is a default or soemthing somewhere. anybody have any ideas or questions that might lead me to some more help or conclusions? thanks for your time

1st issue sounds just like a failing CTM. The 2nd issue may be related as well. I don't remember seeing the CTM wired into the gauges but I may be mistaken. A lot of things run through it.

+3 CTM is failing. About $480 repair costs, dealer only fix, take both of your key fobs for reprogramming when they finish the new install.
