My daughter in laws 2000 durango won't crank ,but all the dash lights and fan blower come on.
Haven't had a chance to check it out yet,but I'm wondering if it could be a case of the theft deterent feature with the ignition.
The vehicle has the remote door locks feature which I believe also activates the theft deterent system.
Any thoughts on this problem,and how would I reset the theft deterent system to enable the starter...if that's the problem?
Any help would be appreciated!

 

Another thought...How about neutral safety switch?
Anyone know where it's located on a 2000 Durango 4.7L?

 

NEVER MIND!!!!!!
Went and checked it out....as it turns out the problem was with the neutral safety switch....she didn't have the shift lever fully engaged in the PARK position.
Moved the shift lever out and back into the PARK postion and it started right away.
SOOOOOO..... I guess I'll say "THANKS" to myself!
