Default Are MOOG Tie rod ends worth the $?

So I'm at 70K miles on my '02 and my tie rod ends are gone. I'm going to replace them and I'm wondering if it is worth the cost for MOOG. They are like twice as much as the other guys (various manufactures). Anyone adimate obout MOOG that can convince me the shell out the extra cheddar?

Note that I will be doing a 2" t/s lift at the same time.

Yes they are very good.

I also like Duralast from Auto Zone.

BJs are one thing... ALWAYS go with zerk fitted MOOGs there.

As for the TREs... I just got my stockers replaced in Oct 2009 at 189,000+ miles. At that usage... you can't go wrong with stockers. IIRC, the MOOG TREs I now have actually have a plastic part built in there and no zerks. They do have a lifetime warranty, however. Had I not insisted on all MOOG replacement parts, in hindsight I may have went back in with MOPAR TREs if I had to do it again.

No one got me convinced here yet, the Duralast TRE's are $80 less than moog. I mean hell, if the Duralast ones last as long as the OEM ones did, I'm sold. 70K miles is good enought for me if they're as good as OEM.

Yeah, the plan to do inners too, althogh there is no information in Haynes or Chiltons about chaging the inners. Any tips on changing inner TRE?

Update on this one. I replaced the tie rod ends with cheap ones from NAPA at 70,000 miles.

I took the Durango to the shop for 100,000 mile check up last week, and tie rods ends were shot again. If anyone else has this question, go with MOOG or you'll be doing it again in no time.

I also had a warped exhaust manifold, I guess this is pretty common. Anyway, as much as I loved the Durango, I wasn't about to drop $3500 on a 10-year old ride so I said f-it and traded it in for a new truck, 2012 RAM 1500 Longhorn.

I agree with you. I had a cheap tie rod of eBay, don't remember the name, but it was well-known aftermaket brand. It was shot after two years. Now I went with Moog too.
