Hey Dark, you stated you had a msd blaster coil on your truck?=I can't find one for a durango,I did find a msd blaster coil for a 91-97 dakota and an accel yellow coil for a 99 durango=here are the specs the site listed for them notice they have different wind ratios and ohm specs and one is an e-core the other c-core style......You might have been sold the wrong coil for your truck.

MSD REPLACEMENT COIL, 2 PIN CONNECTOR, RED -- 3.962 in. Length x 1.757 in. Width x 2.968 in. Height, Male/HEI Wire Attachment Style, E-Core Style, Square, 1.2 Ohms Primary Resistance, Epoxy Internal Construction, 35,000 V Maximum Voltage, 70:1 Turns Ratio, 13.7 k Ohms Secondary Resistance, 8.0 mH Inductance.

ACCEL SUPER COIL, BLACK/YELLOW -- Male/HEI wire attachment style, C-core style, square, 1.0 Ohms primary resistance, 12.7 k Ohms secondary resistance, 42,000 volts maximum voltage, 76:1 turns ratio; Offers significant peak increases of 34 percent in energy, 17 percent in current, 23 percent in arc duration and 36 percent in dwell against OE.
I got these specs at link below look up 91-97 dak ign coil and 99 dur ign coil and the both look like they have the same connector.

Yeah they didn't make an accel for our "D"'s but They make an adaptor plug so it works out greatly the same adapter can be used for the msd coil as well

The accel yellow is made for the durango, but the msd red is only for the 91-97 dakotas.

and also it appears all durango coils are c-core style coils vs the msd is an e-core=has to be a reason for that.

I've been running this for a long time.

MSD 8.5mm Wires #32189
MSD Blaster Coil #8228
Accel Distributor Cap #120329
Accel Distributor Rotor #130328
Accel OEM Adapter to Coil #140021AH

I had to use some Accel parts because MSD and Mallory don't make them yet.

Blaster II coil will roast you PCM.
