Question Fuse problem

On extremely cold mornings I like to use the remote start BUT, I found out a few days ago that when I do when I hit the brake pedal to kill the engine it blows the 20amp brakelight fuse under the hood. Where would the short be? The brake switch on the pedal? the remote start module? I have no clue but dont care to spend $75 an hour to have a mechanic look at it. The exhaust problem I had a week ago is fixed and it was and easy fix but I let a shop fix it as I didn't have time to do so. But the electrical is another story. It only blows the fuse under the hood and ONLY if I use the remote start.

I take it this is an aftermarket kit? If it is, take it to whoever installed it. For the time being I think U can shut it off by the remote b4 U get in.

Yeah sounds like they wired that aftermarket starter wrong=ya might be able to look up the wiring schematics online for it=look for the make and serial number etc and see if ya can find a wiring pdf from the manufactuer....I thought if you cycled the key to on and then back it should shut off the vehicle?just don't turn the all the way to engage the starter or is it acc back to off>>>>damn I gotta stop drinkin 7yr bourbon till 2 am on sat. nights

No Codes.... and It is not an aftermarket kit. It came on the D when I bought it new. It has not given me any problems til now. I can deal with not using the remote start, but it is nice on really cold mornings. In order to shut the engine off I have to put key in and turn to run or hit the brake pedal. It blows the fuse either way. You can't kill the engine with the remote.

Ask around, you may know a friend who knows a friend that knows about that stuff. If it was aftermarket I could help you more. Factory systems I know nothing about.

Could be a bad brake switch under the dash.
